153: New York Taught Me

New York taught me-

you don’t need a lot if

you have a big window,

a favorite coffee mug,

some good walking shoes.

You don’t need the whole box

of Christmas supplies when you have

a table tree,

Bing Crosby,

a sprig of mistletoe.

You don’t need forty sets of towels

or half a dozen cutting boards.

You don’t need those seventy five scarves,

just in case.

Your favorite sage one will do.

New York taught me-

you don’t need a lot.

A little will do.

Hold on to what matters.

Let the rest slip through.
